Problem: Payment Deducted But No Confirmation Received
Fix: Wait up to 24 hours before taking action. Some payment channels especially over-the-counter payments at 7-Eleven or Bayad Center take several hours to reflect. If there is still no update after 24 hours, contact the payment channel’s customer support (not NBI) with your transaction reference number. Do not pay again until the first transaction is confirmed as failed.
Problem: NBI Portal Not Loading or Showing Error Messages
Fix: Try a different browser. Google Chrome and Firefox work best. Clear your browser cache and cookies. If you are on Wi-Fi, switch to mobile data some ISP networks block the NBI portal. If the problem continues for more than 2 hours, the portal may be under scheduled maintenance. Try again the next morning. NBI typically performs maintenance late at night.
Problem: Clearance Was Released But Contains an Error
Fix: Do not use a clearance with wrong information it may be rejected by the institution that requires it. Return to the NBI branch where you processed your renewal. Your NBI Clearance is valid for one year from the date of issue printed on the clearance itself. After one year, it is expired and you need to renew it before submitting to any institution.
Can I renew my NBI Clearance without my old reference number?
Yes. You can renew using your personal details alone full name, birthday, and birthplace. The system will search for your old record. However, having your old NBI ID number makes the search faster and reduces the chance of a no-record error.
Can I walk in for an NBI Clearance renewal without an appointment?
Generally, no. Most NBI branches require an online appointment for all applicants. Walk-ins are only accepted for priority applicants seniors, PWDs, pregnant women, and OFWs with imminent travel and only at select branches. Call your target branch before attempting a walk-in.
Can I renew if my NBI Clearance expired years ago?
Yes. There is no time limit on how long ago your clearance expired. As long as it was originally issued in 2014 or later and your personal details have not changed, you can still renew online today.
